“On May 1, 2022, at about 8:06 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the area of Hodgson and S Streets in Eureka observed a man walking in and out of traffic, constituting a traffic hazard.

Deputies contacted the man, 30-year-old Bret Aaron Hensley, and found that Hensley had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Deputies searched Hensley incident to arrest, locating over 5 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and other evidence consistent with the sale of controlled substances.

Hensley was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales (HS 11351) and possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia (HS 11364), in addition to warrant charges of possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(a)), driving under the influence of drugs (VC 23152(f)), driving with a suspended driver’s license (VC 14601.1(a)) and driving with a defective windshield/rear window (VC 26710).”
