A Santa Rosa man was recently arrested after police reportedly found over 17 pounds of meth in his possession.

Back in March, narcotics investigators began investigating possible narcotics trafficking involving 42-year-old Joel Parra Orozco, whom they suspected of selling large amounts of meth throughout the city, police said.

On the morning of Tuesday, April 12, investigators detained Orozco at his West 9th Street residence.

While searching the residence, as well as three of his vehicles, investigators reportedly found fifteen pounds of suspected meth divided into seven plastic bags, two more pounds of suspected meth in a plastic container, and nearly two pounds of packaged cocaine.

The investigators also located other items indicating drug sales, including packaging material, mobile phones, and scales, according to police.

Orozco was taken into custody and booked on multiple charges, including felony possession of meth for sale and child endangerment.
