Homicide investigation results in suspect’s arrest

“On 4-6-22, Deputies responded to a report of a shooting which had occurred in the 9000 block of Goldie Lane in Creston.

When Deputies arrived at that location, they discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Medical aid was administered, but a short time later the victim died from his injuries. Detectives began an immediate homicide investigation.

The suspect in this incident has been identified as 42-year-old Cruz Gomez, Jr. of Creston. Detectives and Deputies have been searching for Gomez. The Sheriff’s Office has a warrant for his arrest charging murder. He is considered armed and dangerous. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance. If you see Gomez or have any information as to his whereabouts please contact the Sheriff’s Office.

There is no indication of any threats against the general public.

The suspect wanted in a homicide investigation which occurred this morning in the 9000 block of Goldie Lane in Creston has been apprehended. 42-year-old Cruz Christopher Gomez, Jr. of Creston was arrested without incident in the city of Paso Robles. There are no outstanding suspects in this case. No further information is available at this time.”
