Two illegal firearms in Twelve hours
“It’s no secret our deputies work hard day and night to protect and serve Placer County. Between Wednesday and Thursday, they took two illegally obtained firearms off the streets of North Auburn and rural Lincoln.
The first arrest occurred just after 3 p.m. Wednesday after deputies conducted a traffic stop on Lincoln Way and located an unregistered loaded firearm with a threaded barrel.
The driver, 43-year-old Joshua Lundquist of Foresthill, was arrested for illegal possession of an assault weapon, carrying an unregistered loaded firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.
At 2:43 a.m. Thursday morning, deputies conducted a traffic stop along Industrial Avenue, in rural Lincoln. Upon a search of the vehicle, deputies found a non-serialized, unregistered P80 semi-automatic firearm beneath the center console shifter of the vehicle.
Deputies also found a loaded high-capacity magazine next to the firearm. Both the driver, 23-year-old Joseph Sarly, and the passenger, 29-year-old Tony Le, were arrested for a variety of charges, including having a concealed weapon in a vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of an unregistered firearm.”
