DEPUTIES ASSIST CALFIRE IN ARREST OF CHURCH ARSONIST

“On Saturday March 19th at around 8:00 in the evening deputies responded to the Journey Church in Sonora for reports the church was on fire.

When deputies arrived at the church it was fully engulfed. CalFire remained on scene to manage the fire, while CalFire Fire Investigators actively investigated the cause of the fire.

At around 12:30 in the morning on Sunday CalFire requested deputies respond back to the church “Code 3,” with lights and sirens for a male subject who had entered the active fire scene, was acting strange and refusing to leave.

Deputies arrived and detained 23-year-old Brennan Debisschop. CalFire Investigators continued their investigation and arrested Debisschop.

Deputies transported Debisschop to jail where he was booked by CalFire at the Dambacher Detention Center on charges of Arson and Burglary.”
