One arrested, one sought in December shooting homicide
One man is under arrest and authorities are looking for another after a 23-year-old man was shot to death in December.
On the afternoon of December 21, in the 2100 block of E. Balsam Avenue, a drive-by shooting occurred.
Father of two David Gutierrez Hernandez had been shot and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The ensuing investigation over the next two months identified 23-year-old Damien Rubalcava and 20-year-old Franky Meja Echeverria as suspects in the homicide.
The duo are asuspected gang members, but the victim was not.
On March 3 Rubacalva was arrested in the 8100 block of 13th Street in Westminster. The other suspect has not been located.
Rubacalva was booked for vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at another person from a motor vehicle, street terrorism and gang enhancements. He us being held at Ornage Connty Jail  in lieu of $1 million bail.
“Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call detectives directly at 714-321-3669 or OC Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS / occrimestoppers.org. Echeverria should be considered armed and dangerous; a $1 million homicide warrant has been issued for his arrest.”
