A 21-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga has been arrested after raping a female victim he met through Snapchat.

The suspect, later identified as Glenn Martin Cranford, Jr., first contacted the victim using his Snapchat handle @cam_ford20 on February 3, 2020. Cranford told the victim he would pay her if she sent him nude photos of herself. The victim did not know Cranford but agreed to the deal, sending over photos and a video.

Cranford, however, refused to pay up and instead threatened to blackmail her. He “threatened to distribute her photos to people she knew via social media if she did not send additional photos or meet up with him,” according to the release. The victim refused to comply.

On February 8, the victim received a Snapchat message from a different account, @martycranford, which, unbeknownst to her, also belonged to Cranford. Cranford told her that he knew who @cam_ford20 was and could get the video and photos deleted; “however, he would not do it for free.” Believing he would help her, the victim agreed with his request to meet up in person.

The following day, the victim drove from Long Beach to Sunflower Street in Rancho Cucamonga to meet Cranford. When she arrived, he got into her vehicle and told her to drive to drive to Heritage Park and park in a dirt lot. “While at the park, Cranford raped the victim then demanded she drive him back” to their original meeting location, according to the release. “Cranford later told the victim he spoke with @cam_ford20 and her video and photos were deleted.”

The victim reported the incident to Rancho Cucamonga police on February 10th. Cranford was located, arrested, and booked into Central Detention Center in San Bernardino on $250,000 bail.

Cranford is believed to have victimized others on Snapchat using other handles, including @jacobgibs2019 and @jenkins9131.

Anyone with additional information on this suspect is asked to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station. Those who would like to remain anonymous can contact We-tip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or online at www.wetip.com.
