“On Saturday February 5th at about 10:40 in the evening, Lieutenant Riley was on patrol near a gas station around Mono Way and Elsey Court. He saw a man sitting in the passenger seat of a Subaru near the gas pumps, who began acting nervously and moving around when he saw the patrol car.

Lt. Riley pulled over and spoke to 26-year-old Dalton Brown who informed Lt. Riley that he believed he had warrants for his arrest. Lt. Riley saw drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and asked Brown if he had anything else illegal with him. Brown told Lt. Riley he had brass knuckles.

A records check of Brown was conducted, and Lt. Riley discovered that Brown had a felony warrant for his arrest and was on probation. Lt. Riley did a probation search of the vehicle and found a loaded gun in the area where Brown had been sitting.

Another records check showed that Brown had been convicted of a prior felony and was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Through further investigation Lt. Riley discovered the firearm had been stolen. Brown was arrested and booked at the Dambacher Detention Center on charges of Possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of metal knuckles, carrying a loaded stolen firearm, a local felony warrant, and a misdemeanor outside agency warrant.
