SRPD Patrol Officers Arrest Santa Rosa Man for Narcotics Trafficking and Possession of a Stolen Handgun

“On 1/23/2022, Santa Rosa Police Department patrol officers conducted a probation search at a residence in the 1000-block of 14th St in Santa Rosa. The resident, identified as 49-year-old Eddie Mendonca, was on pre-trial release for a February 2021 criminal narcotics trafficking investigation. Mendonca was required to submit to search and seizure by law enforcement, as part of his conditional release.

At approximately 7:00 PM officers contacted Mendonca at his 14th Street residence and conducted a search of the residence. The following items were located and seized as evidence:

  • Over 3 ounces of methamphetamine
  • 157 LSD tablets
  • Half pound Psilocybin (mushrooms)
  • MDMA (Ecstasy)
  • Stolen handgun
  • Approximately $135,000 in cash

Additional items of evidence were located that indicated drug sales, such as packaging material and digital scales. Mendonca was later transported and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on various narcotic trafficking and weapon-related charges including:

11370.1 HS – (Felony) Possession of Illegal Drugs & a Firearm
1203.2 PC – (Felony) Violation of Probation
