On February 4th, 2022, at approximately 1:50 A.M., Redding Police Officers located a vehicle associated with a wanted felon, 31-year-old Tyrone Williams of Fresno.

Officers were familiar with Williams, who threatened a neighbor with a firearm on December 31st, 2021, during a disturbance.

During that previous incident, Williams fled from a vehicle when Officers attempted a stop, and was not located at the time. Williams was wanted on a variety of charges stemming from that incident, as well as two felony and one misdemeanor bench warrant.

On today’s date, Officers attempted to stop the same vehicle, a black 2002 Toyota Camry. Williams immediately fled from the passenger side of the vehicle. Officers and K9 Miko set up a perimeter and began searching the area. The California Highway Patrol Air Operations Division assisted with the search.

While searching a backyard in the 1000 block of Parkview Avenue, K9 Miko located Williams hiding beneath a pile of debris. Williams refused to surrender and was apprehended by K9 Miko. Williams sustained injuries to his left shoulder during the apprehension, and was treated at a local hospital.

During a search of the vehicle, Officers located suspected cocaine, along with evidence of drug sales in the area where Williams was seated.

Williams was booked into Shasta County Jail for Resisting Arrest, Possession of Cocaine for Sales, and his warrants. Williams was also booked separately for the charges stemming from the previous case.
