Redding police have arrested a man accused of entering a family’s home and trying to rob them before an armed resident scared him off.

20-year-old Jacob Morrow was identified as the primary suspect in an attempted robbery on the 1100 block of Harpole Lane on the afternoon of January 24. Police say Morrow had violently assaulted one of the residents, prompting the resident to retrieve a firearm and fire a warning shot. Morrow then fled the home.

Responding officers located Morrow and were able to take him into custody after a short foot pursuit. He was later booked at the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of attempted robbery and battery.

Though exact details have not been disclosed, police say Morrow is an acquaintance of someone who lives at the home.
