Sacramento man arrested in connection to shooting that left teen critically injured

“Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit Detectives arrested Oybek S. Khamidkhodjaev (34) of Sacramento in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, on the 7700 block of Watt Avenue. The victim is a 16-year-old girl who was riding with her brother in a vehicle driven by her mother. She remains hospitalized with severe life altering injuries.
Khamidkhodjaev was arrested on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, after a brief vehicle pursuit that started at Fulton & Marconi Avenue and ended at Scripps Drive and American River Drive. Khamidkhodjaev exited his vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies set a perimeter and Khamidkhodjaev was captured a few minutes later without further incident.
Khamidkhodjaev was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on (1) count Attempt Homicide, (1) count Evading Police-Reckless Driving and (1) count Evading Police – Driving Opposite Flow of Traffic. There is no booking photo available at this time.”
