The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of the primary suspect in a recent residential burglary in Arcata.

43-year-old Jesse David Machin was arrested on the evening of January 26 in connection to an alleged burglary that had occurred the previous night on the 1500 block of Giuntoli Lane. The residents had come home to find someone had forced entry and stolen various electronics, which had been captured on surveillance video, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Machin was soon identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest. At the time of his arrest, he was reportedly in possession of the stolen items.

Machin was later booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of burglary and vandalism.
