Merced – On October 13, 2021, Merced Police concluded a lengthy sexual abuse investigation that led to the arrest of Donnell McKinley (61) of Merced. A report was filed in April 2021, and two juvenile victims were identified. Through further investigation, a third victim, now an adult, was identified.
The investigation, once completed, was turned over to the Merced County District Attorney’s Office, who ultimately issued a warrant for McKinley’s arrest.
The charges included lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, sodomy with a child 10-years-old or younger, oral copulation with a child 10-years-old or younger, and aggravated sexual assault of a child. McKinley was taken into custody by Merced Police Detectives and booked into the Merced County Jail. McKinley remains in custody on $1,650,000 bail.
