“Linda, Ca.  – On Monday night 10/4/2021, Yuba County Sheriff Detectives arrested 32-year-old transient Thomas Paul Wright for Arson, Attempted Murder, Burglary and Criminal Threats, following an investigation into the fire that destroyed the former Peachtree Mall building at 6000 Lindhurst Avenue in Linda on the morning of 10/2/2021.

Deputies removed Wright from inside the vacant mall after they arrived to the scene of the fire at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Wright was determined to have a warrant for violation of probation and he was booked into the Yuba County Jail that morning, where he remained in custody at the time of his arrest last night.

After additional investigation, a victim came forward to report that she had been in a domestic violence confrontation with Thomas Wright inside the old mall the morning of the fire, when it escalated to Wright threatening to kill them by burning down the building. Thomas Wright then reportedly proceeded to light insulation and other materials on fire inside the building.

Wright remains in custody at the Yuba County Jail with a bail of 1 million dollars.”
