An adult male and a 17-year-old juvenile have been arrested in connection to a recent armed robbery at a local liquor store, according to San Mateo police.

On the night of Thursday, May 20, a man later identified as Steve Talauati (19) allegedly walked into Palm Liquor on South Boulevard and demanded money at gunpoint, later fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

Surveillance footage obtained from the area reportedly showed the suspect and another man driving towards a garbage can at a nearby hotel, where the suspect discarded the revolver. Footage shows them later returning and retrieving the gun, police said.

Detectives ultimately identified Talauati as the primary suspect, as well as a 17-year-old juvenile as the other party. Talauati was arrested on suspicion of robbery, while the juvenile was arrested on suspicion of accessory after the fact.
