San Francisco Police Make Arrest in Portola Homicide

“On Monday August 16, 2021, at approximately 8:09 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 2400 block of San Bruno Avenue for a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 33-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where, despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigators from the SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

Investigators developed information that identified the murder suspect as 20-year-old Deandre Reid of San Francisco. SFPD Homicide Investigators obtained a warrant for Reid’s arrest.

On Wednesday August 25, 2021, investigators from the SFPD Community Violence Response Team (CVRT) located Reid on the 5800 block of Horton Street in Emeryville. Reid was transported to San Francisco County Jail where he was booked on one count of murder (187 PC).”
