SAN FRANCISCO – When one hears the names “Jones and Hale,” one might at first think of a law firm. Such is not the case in a burglary incident last week.

Around 1:00 am on May 11 an auto burglary occurred near Steiner Street and Geary Boulevard.  Responding officers detained and arrested 23-year-old Brentwood resident Maurice Jones on site. His partner in crime, 21–year-old Antioch resident Hershel Hale, had other plans and took off.

Hale entered a vehicle at O’Farrell and Webster Streets and drove off in it.  On the 1500 block of O’Farrell Hale collided with two marked SFPD cars.  Also, an officer involved shooting occurred.

Hale continued on his adventure to Polk and McAllister Streets, stopping at Civic Center Plaza. Finally officers took him into custody as well.

Both men face charges of 2nd degree burglary and conspiracy. Furthermore, SPD charged Hale with assault with a deadly weapon, evading and hit and run causing injury.
