Speeding street biker fails to elude CHP in Tahoe

On Friday, August 20, at approximately 1:53 p.m., a CHP South Lake Tahoe officer was conducting speed enforcement on US-50 near Sierra At Tahoe Rd. when he observed a street bike at a high rate of speed.
The officer conducted an enforcement stop on the motorcycle which initially yielded to the right shoulder. A brief pursuit followed, however, the rider dumped the bike a short time later and was apprehend after attempting to flee/hide.
Upon searching the rider’s backpack, a number of illegal items were found. The rider had a ballcap reading Fire Dept, a camouflage tactical vest with an official-looking ID badge attached to the front, and a portable radio, among other suspicious items.
This is a reminder to all; If you see something suspicious, say something. Call 911. ALL emergency personnel are identified by their appropriate agencies attire and will have no problem presenting their credentials.
During these emergency situations, there are numerous police agencies in the evacuated areas on patrol for looters.
