Originally published as a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Nixle post –

“The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 22-year-old Joshua Rodriguez on murder charges for the August 6th shooting of Juan Aranda.

On Monday afternoon, August 23, 2021, at about 4 p.m., crimes against persons detectives, SWAT team members, and other air support and hostage negotiation team members descended upon a residence in the 5400 block of Roselena Way to serve a homicide arrest warrant.  Rodriguez was arrested without incident outside of his own home.

Detectives had been diligently following all investigative leads since the 23-year-old Modesto resident was fatally wounded during a late overnight shooting incident which took place in the 5400 block of Cora Way in Keyes.

All circumstances of the fatal shooting from August the 6th, to include the motive, are still being investigated by Sheriff’s Office officials.  Our case remains fully active and ongoing.  Rodriguez was interviewed after his arrest and booked into the Public Safety Center for homicide charges.

Our investigative findings will soon be turned over to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office for their review.   Rodriguez is currently being held on a no-bail status.

Members of the public are encouraged to contact Detective Esquivez with further information by calling 209-652-1792.  Tipsters can choose to remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-866-602-7463 or download the P3 Tip application for your mobile device.  Callers could be eligible for a cash reward in certain instances.”
