A San Mateo man has been arrested on suspicion of the forcible rape of a minor, among other charges, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

21-year-old Miguel Mendez-Marin is accused of engaging in an unlawful sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl, whom police say he also forcibly raped on one occasion and sodomized on another.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the alleged crimes in May of this year.

Detectives arrested Mendez-Marin at his home on August 11, during which they say he fought with officers, causing injury to one. He was ultimately booked at the Maguire Correctional Facility.

Police say they suspect Mendez-Marin has other victims, and are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Serrano at 650-363-4066.
