“When working as a Police Officer, you never know what type of call you’ll be dispatched to next. Last night, community members called in SCPD Officers to deal with a naked person acting erratically who was tearing out the interior and wiring to the electric battery of a silver Toyota Prius.

Mortar fireworks along with various interior car parts and personal items were scattered around the vehicle and sidewalk.

The man was obviously under the influence of narcotics. Officers did a tremendous job calming him down and getting him covered up.

Michael Richards, 46 years old transient from Santa Cruz, has a history of fighting and evading law enforcement. After Mr. Richards was medically cleared, he was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail and got his car towed.”
