“On June 3rd at 10:54 p.m., Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residential burglary in progress, in Meadow Vista. One of the homeowners was watching TV in the bedroom when they heard the water running.
They went to check and see where the water was coming from and noticed broken glass by the front door. The homeowner immediately alerted their spouse, who then grabbed a shotgun and found a man in the bathroom. The homeowner held the suspect at gunpoint until deputies arrived to their home.
Deputies instructed the homeowner to hand over the shotgun and then handcuffed the suspect.
The suspect, 25-year old Carrola Tiago-Freitas of Elk Grove, told deputies he had broken a window on the front door with a ceramic rabbit he found on the lawn. Freitas then entered the home and took a shower.

Freitas was arrested for residential burglary.”
