San Diego County: Woman escapes kidnapping attempt, later identifies suspect in line-up

A San Diego County man has been arrested on suspicion of attacking and trying to rob a woman as she walked her dogs in a Vista park, according to police.

The victim reported that just before noon on Wednesday, May 19, she’d been walking her dogs along a trail at Buena Vista Park when she was attacked by a man who’d passed her on the trail. She told officers the man tried to pull her into the bushes and they’d both fallen down, at which point she was able to escape.

Going off a description provided by the victim, detectives identified and arrested 21-year-old Luis Enrique Ambriz Jimenez as the primary suspect. The victim later identified him in a lineup, police said.

Jimenez was ultimately booked at the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of kidnapping with intent to commit robbery, false imprisonment, and attempted robbery.
