Suspect Identified from October Assault

On October 15, 2016, a surveillance video captured a fight in a parking lot by On the Rocks Bar at 656 East Street in Chula Vista.

In the video, there are multiple people fighting each other. During the fight, a man comes up from behind two women and hits one of them in the head with a baseball bat. The other woman goes after the man holding the baseball bat. As she confronts him, the man swings the bat to the side of her head, making her unconscious. The man fled the scene.

The woman, who got hit from behind, received a laceration on her head that required surgery. The other woman, who got hit on the side of her head, received an orbital bone and skull fracture that caused debilitating injuries. The injuries caused the woman to go through rehabilitation.

Today, based on the evidence of the surveillance video and a Facebook photo, the suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Jorge Becerra of San Diego.

Authorities have not yet located Becerra and is seeking help from the public in locating him. He is described as a 5’9″ Hispanic male, weighing about 200 pounds with tattoos on his neck, chest and forearm. There is an outline of skeleton bones on his forearm and his fingers.

Police have noted that Becerra is dangerous and should not be confronted if spotted.
