Traffic stop leads to firearm arrest

Merced – On April 24, 2021 at 1:14 a.m. Officer Barroso made a traffic enforcement stop for expired registration on a vehicle at Glen Ave & Yosemite Pkwy. The driver Xavier Hernandez (20) consented to a search of his vehicle and a loaded 9mm handgun was located under the driver’s seat.

Hernandez admitted ownership of the firearm and was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
