Man drives with outstanding felony warrant

Originally published as a Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office press release – 

“On 03-23-2021 at about 9:26 PM a Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop on vehicle being driven by Augustine Frease at the intersection of Howard Street and Highway 162 in Covelo, California.

Present in the vehicle was passenger Kathy Genet.

The Deputy conducted a wants and warrants check on both Frease and Genet and learned Frease had and outstanding felony warrant for his arrest and that he was on Mendocino County Post Release Community Supervision probation (PRCS).

The Deputy arrested Frease for the outstanding warrant and conducted a search of the vehicle.  The Deputy located illicit drugs in a metal container attached to Frease’s keys, a methamphetamine pipe located in a pocket on the driver’s door and a methamphetamine pipe located a bag on the front passenger floorboard.

Deputies connected Genet to the methamphetamine pipe and she was subsequently searched.  The Deputy located illicit drugs on her person during that search.   Genet was arrested and released on a notice to appear citation at the scene.

Frease was transported to the Mendocino County Jail on the listed outstanding felony arrest warrant and additional charges of parole violation, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia and was to be held in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.”
