“On March 16, 2021, Detectives from the Beaumont Police Department, as well as the Gang Impact Team (GIT) served a search warrant in the 26000 block of Corte Tecolote, in the City of Hemet.
The warrant was additional follow up to a residential burglary that occurred in the City of Beaumont on February 2, 2021. During a search of the home and vehicles, four guns, several bags of ammunition and other items believed to have been taken from other recent burglaries was located.
One of the firearms was reported stolen out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Darrell Hollawayne Jr., age 20, of Hemet was arrested for burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of an altered firearm and possession of a large capacity magazine.
Darrell Hollawayne Sr., age 43, also of Hemet, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and being in possession of a stolen firearm. The two subjects were both transported to Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
One additional suspect, Mateao Waring, age 19, of Hemet is still outstanding. This case is still under investigation. If anyone has information on this case or Mataeo Waring, please contact the On-Duty Watch Commander at 951-769-8500.
*The Gang Impact Team is staffed by investigators and agents from the DA’s Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Marshals Service, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations Special Services Unit, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and detectives from the Banning, Beaumont, Cathedral City, Corona, Desert Hot Springs, Hemet, Palm Springs, and Riverside Police Departments.”
