Clovis Police Stop Hot Prowl Burglary in Progress

A Clovis resident’s night was interrupted when around 3:30AM on January 21 st , she heard someone trying to enter her home uninvited.

She called 911 and reported to dispatch she could heard someone trying to force their way in via a side entrance. Clovis Police Officers responded to the Fallbrook and Peach home and found the suspect using a 10-inch hunting knife to attempt to pry the door open.

The suspect was contacted by Clovis police officers and identified as 24-year old Fresno resident David Hernandez. He has no prior affiliation with the victim’s residence, simply was in the area visiting a friend. Hernandez was booked at the Fresno County Jail for burglary.

Clovis Police Department reminds residents to lock all doors, set available alarms, and call 911 if anything is suspicious is seen or heard.
