Merced Police’s gang unit serves warrant, confiscates gun and narcotics

“On October 16th at 10:22 PM, Officers with the Merced Police Department Gang Violence Suppression Unit went to an apartment in the 1900 block of Shadowbrook Dr.

Officers arrested Jaquinn Hamilton (23) at an apartment for a local warrant. Officer Barajas subsequently authored a search warrant for the apartment.

During the search, officers located a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a loaded high capacity magazine and large bag of narcotics. Hamilton is prohibited from possessing any firearms due to his previous criminal history and being a documented gang member.

Hamilton was booked at Merced County Jail for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of narcotics for sales, a local warrant and gang enhancements.”
