A man suspected of murdering his ex-girlfriend and another man in Anaheim was found dead by what appears to be suicide, according to police.

The homicide victims have been identified as 47-year-old Maria Ernestina Ramirez of Anaheim and 40-year-old Efrain Hernandez-Ramirez of Placentia.   On September 6, 2020, Anaheim police deputies received a report about gunshot victims at an apartment in the 1800 block of South Haster Street.  There, at about 6:15 am, police discovered the two lifeless bodies.

The female victim’s recent ex-boyfriend—57-year-old Jorge Pino of Salt Lake City, Utah—was identified as the primary suspect in the case.  “Jorge Pino and Maria Ernestina Ramirez were in a long-term dating relationship which had recently ended,” according to the release.

“At about 10:30 am, as Homicide Detective prepared an arrest warrant of Pino, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Department Deputies discovered Pino deceased in the Gaviota area of Santa Barbara County,” stated the release. “Pino suffered what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
