VALLEY VILLAGE – Imagine internationally-renowned rapper “Silento” entering your house, unannounced – wielding a hatchet. This is what a family with children encountered from one of rapper Silento’s two illegal incidents over a 2-day period in Los Angeles and Santa Ana.

“The rap artist known as Silento has been charged with threatening two strangers with a hatchet last weekend,” said Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on 09/03/20. “Richard Lamar Hawk aka Silento (dob 1/22/1998) of Santa Ana faces two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with allegations of using a hatchet as a deadly and dangerous weapon, and the crime was committed while out on bail or his own recognizance for an arrest in Santa Ana.”

All this, after Santa Ana Police released Silento from custody  on 08/28/2020 for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant,  after a domestic  disturbance report on the 100 block of MacArthur Boulevard.  The next day,  stated Prosecutors, “Hawk reportedly walked into an unlocked stranger’s home in Valley Village and attempted to strike the two people in the home with a hatchet before one of them managed to disarm him.”

Los Angeles Police Department Officers arrested the suspect about a block away.  Investigators reported that the residents and children were shaken, but unharmed.

This may significantly delay any future announced International tours by the world-renowned artist, whose Capitol Records hit single, “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” hit #3 on the 2015 US Billboard Hot 100.  The Stone Mountain, Georgia native’s song, viewed over 1.7 billion times on YouTube, inspired a dance craze at that time, along with countless social media videos of fans performing the individual dances. Silento’s Bail is set at $105,000. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of six years in state prison.
