Calaveras Marijuana Team Recap August 18, 2020

Here’s a report from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office about the results of their recent efforts to stop illegal marijuana grow sites –
“The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served 6 search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation on August 13th and 14th, 2020. During these operations, deputies seized 1,543 marijuana plants and issued 3 citations. The estimated value of seized marijuana exceeds $1,122,000.
On August 13th, 2020, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation on 3 unrelated sites. These sites were located in the 2000 block of Sonny Lane in Valley Springs, the 12000 block of Brandy Lane, Valley Springs, and in the 2000 block of Independence Cemetery Road, in Railroad Flat.

Deputies seized a combined total of 690 growing marijuana plants at these three locations with a combined estimated value exceeding $525,300. Grover Ronald Inks, age 66 of Burson, was contacted on the Sonny Lane location and issued a citation on charges of 11358 H&S Illegal Marijuana Cultivation (Misdemeanor).
Carlos Bernal, age 21, and Jose Organillo, age 24, were contacted on the Brandy Lane site and issued citations on charges of 11366.5 H&S Maintaining a Premises for Controlled Substance Sales and 182 PC Conspiracy to Commit Crime. The investigation into each of these illegal cultivation sites is ongoing.
On August 14th, 2020, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served 3 unrelated search warrants at illegal marijuana cultivation sites in the 4600 block of Harmony Lane in Avery, the 5000 block of Log Cabin Drive in Murphys, and the 1100 block of Royal Lane in Railroad Flat.
Deputies seized a combined total of 853 growing marijuana plants at these three locations with a combined estimated value exceeding $597,000. Additionally, 2.4 grams of cocaine were seized at the site on Log Cabin Drive. No persons were contacted at these sites; however, evidence was collected at these scenes, and the investigations are ongoing.
