A man from Sparks, Nevada, has been arrested in Loomis after a reportedly contentious encounter that ultimately required a K-9 officer and a CHP air unit.

Just after midnight on July 28, a deputy pulled over 27-year-old Jason Devin Williams, who turned out to have an active warrant out of Plumas County as well as a felony no-bail warrant out of Washoe County, Nevada.

Authorities say that after he parked, Williams took off on foot, prompting additional units to respond and set up a perimeter. Two aerial units, one belonging to the Placerville County Sheriff’s Office and the other to CHP, were also brought in to help locate Williams.

He was eventually located and taken into custody with the help of K-9 officer Axel. Deputies also searched his vehicle and reportedly found brass knuckles, methamphetamine, a stolen driver’s license, and stolen debit or credit cards.

Williams has since been booked at the Placer County Jail.
