The Placer County Sheriff’s Office official Facebook page reports of a woman, her motor home, her meth and her attempt at residential theft –

“Kudos to our deputies for quickly locating a suspect involved in a residential theft, and returning the stolen property back to the owner!

The deputies responded to a home on Cody Lane in Colfax on April 18, for a report of theft. The victims had taken photos of the suspect, 45-year old Teresa Ellis of Sacramento, and her motor home, as she was stealing a chainsaw from their property.

One of the victims approached Ellis, when she hit them in the leg with a “hand cart” and knocked them down, prior to taking off. Both deputies then began their search for the suspect and her motor home. The deputies found a motor home parked near the Rollins Lake campground, matching the photograph taken by one of the victims. Deputies then made contact with Ellis, who was near the motor home.

Ellis is on searchable probation out of Sacramento; upon searching her motor home, deputies recovered the victims’ chainsaw, in addition to a black backpack belonging to Ellis. Inside the backpack, deputies found methamphetamine and two “burnt” (used) pipes commonly used to smoke the meth.

Ellis was arrested and charged with burglary, looting, battery, possession of stolen property, possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. Again, great catch by our deputies!”
