San Jose PD: Suspects arrested in 2016 Cape Aston Court shooting

“San Jose, Calif. – On Monday, June 27, 2016 at approximately 9:20 PM, Victim Justin Tran was shot and killed while sitting inside his vehicle in the 1700 block of Cape Aston Court in San Jose.

Homicide detectives conducted extensive follow-up investigation which led to the identification of the above listed suspects involved in the murder.  Detectives obtained arrest warrants for all four suspects for murder.  Three of the four suspects are currently in custody on unrelated charges at various detention facilities in California and are awaiting extradition to Santa Clara County Jail. The fourth suspect, Myung Jin Kim, is currently being sought and is wanted on an unrelated homicide that occurred in 2018, in Westminster, California.

The San Jose Police Department continues to actively investigate this case and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Todd Jennings or Detective Brian McDonald of the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283.

San Jose, Calif. – On Monday, June 27, 2016, at 9:20 PM, San Jose Police officers responded to the 1700 block of Cape Aston Ct. on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and discovered the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No suspect information is available at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Brian McDonald or Detective Wayne Smith of the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283.
