Suspect arrested in murder of North Highlands man

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a primary suspect in the murder of a 78-year-old North Highlands man.

34-year-old Frank Swanson is accused of killing his grandfather with a baseball bat, which he reportedly admitted when he called police.

Deputies responded to the scene on the 3700 block of Bolivar Avenue and detained Swanson.

They also found an elderly man inside the home with visible trauma to his body. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Swanson remains housed at the Sacramento County Main Jail. No further details have been made public.
