Jamestown man faces DUI, resisting charges after reported collision in Sonora

A Jamestown man has been arrested on numerous charges including DUI and resisting arrest after an incident in Sonora.

Around 8:15 AM on the morning of February 27, a witness called Sonora Police to report that they’d seen a man flee the scene of a collision on Dodge Street near Washington.

The responding officer located the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Brandon J. Silva, nearby and tried to detain him. Despite a brief struggle, he was arrested.

Silva reportedly displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol and was positively identified as the driver of the vehicle abandoned at the collision site.

He has since been booked at the Tuolumne County Jail.
