Assault Suspect Turns Himself In After Seeing Himself on the News

A suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in Santa Ana has turned himself in to police custody after seeing himself on the news on TV.

At around 8:45 PM on February 2, 2020, Super Bowl Sunday, a fight broke out in the parking lot of the Spoons Grill & Bar at 2601 Hotel Terrace in Santa Ana. The restaurant manager attempted to break up the fight, when a man came out of the restaurant and struck the manager on the head with a beer bottle. The suspect then got into a dark colored Jeep Cherokee and fled the scene.

Santa Ana Police released surveillance video footage and a written description of the suspect, stating that he was a Hispanic male, 5’6”, 210 pounds, wearing jeans and a grey sweatshirt with a “Chargers” logo on the front.

On February 14th, Santa Ana police reported that the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Isaias Arroyo, turned himself in to police detectives after seeing himself on the TV news. He was interviewed, arrested, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Santa Ana Jail.
