Parolee allegedly caught with stolen gun in Redding

A Shasta County man on Post-Release Community Supervision has been arrested after allegedly being caught with a gun reported stolen out of Alabama.

Just before midnight on February 10th, a Redding police officer stopped 36-year-old Michael Brookshire for a traffic violation.

After discovering Brookshire is on parole, the officer conducted a search of his vehicle, locating the .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Brooks was arrested and booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, being a convicted felon carrying a concealed firearm, and violating the terms of his PRCS.
