An attempted homicide occurred in Bakersfield, reported here in this press release –

“On Monday, January 27, 2020, at about 9:33 a.m. officers from the Bakersfield Police Department responded to Tommy’s Liquor, located at 2501 South Chester Avenue, regarding a shooting that just occurred.

The investigation revealed that prior to the shooting, two men were involved in an argument in the parking lot. One of the men entered his vehicle, and shot at the victim as he drove out of the parking lot. The suspect missed and the victim was not injured.

Follow-up investigation identified the suspect as Alexander Horton (age 21). Horton was located and arrested on January 27, 2020, at about 2:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Union Avenue. A firearm was recovered from his residence during the execution of a search warrant.

Horton was arrested for attempt homicide, assault with a firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, and driving without a license. He was transported and booked into the Kern County jail.
