An 18-year-old Jamestown man has been arrested after allegedly being caught with a loaded (and stolen) firearm on school grounds last week.

Around 10:30 AM on January 13, Cassina High School administration called police regarding Daniel Charles Wandersee Jr., whom they had reportedly seen on campus with a firearm and who was just leaving.

Officers responded to the school to speak with administrators and Wandersee eventually returned, at which point he was taken into custody and searched. A loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic firearm with a round in the chamber was found in his waistband, as well as an empty magazine.

The gun had been reported stolen from a parked vehicle on Southgate Drive on January 6th.

Wandersee was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail on two felony charges, for which his bail has been set at $30,000.
