A Stewarts Point man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred in late 2019.

Around 8 PM on New Year’s Eve, Sonoma County deputies were dispatched to the 31000 block of Tin Barn Road near Stewarts-Point and Skaggs-Spring Road to collect 25-year-old Orren Vicenti, the primary suspect in an assault and non-fatal stabbing that occurred in the same area on November 14, 2019.

When a deputy knocked on Vicenti’s door, he fled out the back, where another deputy had posted up. The second deputy warned Vicenti to stop and that if he didn’t, K-9 officer Rappa would stop him.

And so it came to pass.

Rappa chased Vicente down and bit him on the right leg, subduing him long enough for him to be placed under arrest. Vicente was treated at a local hospital and later released into police custody.

Neither the deputies nor Rappa were injured.

Vicenti is now housed at the Sonoma County Jail on a felony arrest warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation, and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.
