Sac Sheriff’s deputies arrest suspect in fatal Whitney Avenue stabbing

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrest of a primary suspect in a fatal stabbing on Whitney Avenue earlier this month.

Deputies arrived on the 3400 block of Whitney Avenue at around 1:15 AM on Wednesday, December 18, and discovered a lone stabbing victim, a 22-year-old male whose name has not been released.

Investigators believe 45-year-old Garrick Correa stabbed the victim to death after a verbal altercation.

Additional details are not being released at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.
