SANTA CRUZ – As if California needs any more fires – especially ones that are deliberately set.
In the early morning of October 18th the Santa Cruz Police Department began responding to various intentionally set small fires in garbage cans.
In fact, from 12:55 and 8:30 a.m., five different garbage cans were set on fire from Ocean to Church Streets.
One witness spotted the suspect, 34-year-old Nataliya Zubrilina, setting one of the fires.
When SCPD officers questioned the subject, she admitted to setting the fires.
Zubrilina was booked in the county jail for arson.
