Domestic violence call ends with 64-year-old woman’s arrest

FORT BRAGG — Deputies have arrested a woman on suspicion of domestic violence after a reportedly alcohol-fueled incident last week.

Just after 4:30 PM on Friday, September 20, deputies arrived on the 3000 block of Pudding Creek Road to investigate a disturbance involving a woman on a roof.

There they spoke with 64-year-old Debra Fitzgerald and a 76-year-old man whose name has not been released.

Deputies determined that the two, who are a couple, had been drinking and got into an argument over Fitzgerald being on the roof. She then climbed down and the two went back inside, where a verbal argument broke out and escalated into Fitzgerald allegedly assaulting the man.

She is now in custody at the Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence battery.
