Man and accomplice nabbed in Needles for fatal shooting

CATHEDRAL CITY – A disturbance occurred around 68300 Madrid Road on August 19 just after midnight.

Arriving officers of the Cathedral City Police found Alberto Alvarez on the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Paramedics arrived and took the victim to the Desert Regional Medical Center, but he succumbed to his wounds and died.

Further investigation determined that the disturbance began at a residence nearby on Madrid Road. The process continued as investigators attempted to identify who was on the scene at the time of the shooting.

On September 3, detectives arrested 20-year-old Christian Jimenez at a residence in Needles. He was arrested and booked for homicide, with a bail of $1,000,000.

20-year-old Merisa Robinson was also arrested for harboring a known felon. Her bail was set at $500,000.
