Redding woman arrested after stabbing incident involving family member

REDDING — Police have arrested a woman in connection to a stabbing incident involving a family member on the morning of Saturday, September 7th.

After the incident, the woman — identified as 35-year-old Kacie Gutierrez — fled with her two small children, a 7-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl.

At around 2:41 PM that same day, Shasta County deputies found her at the Shell Station on Lake Boulevard in Shasta Lake.

She was detained until Redding police officers could arrive and take her into custody. Her children were placed in the care of a family member.

Gutierrez was then booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and felony child endangerment.
