SAN JOSE – The SJPD has announced the arrest of three wanted suspects in the shooting and attempted murder of a male juvenile. The incident occurred on August 30 near Havana Drive and Tampa Way. According to SJPD Officer Gina Tepoorten, “Preliminary investigation revealed that two adult male suspects confronted the victim.”
Marco Antonio Alanis, 18 with Robert Luis Aguirre, 19 approached the young juvenile victim. They began to taunt him and ask him if he was in a gang. Police arrested a third suspect who did not approach the teen.
Officers arrested Caesar Roman Angel Cortez, 26 of San Jose at his home after he barricaded himself inside the home. The San Jose MERGE Unit talked Cortez from the residence. They took him into custody on another offense that included unrelated robbery warrant. Subsequently, an executed search warrant of the home produced an illegal handgun and a high powered rifle.
Similarly, police located Alanis and Aguirre on September 13 at their residence on Midfield Drive and Ezie Street. Both suspects attempted to flee their residence from their backyards. However, the Covert Response Unit (CRU) arrested them before they fled into the neighboring area in order to evade capture. A K-9 cornered Aguirre before he surrenderedto police and suffered minor injuries.
