West Virginian Home Burglar Threatens Victim with Bat

SANTA CRUZ – A West Virginian man threatened the victim of his residential burglary with a bat.

The incident occurred on July 23 around 4:15 p.m. on Bay Street.  The male suspect broke into a garage while the residents were at home.

The female resident came upon 34-year-old Paul Gross, who raised an aluminum baseball bat over his head. He then threatened to hit her with it if she didn’t get out of the way.

Gross rode away on a stolen bike,m with the bat in hand.  The victims called the SCPD and gave an “excellent description.”

Officers located Gross a few blocks away, and that was that.  his charges are residential burglary and robbery.

“Please continue to contact SCPD when suspicious activity occurs in your neighborhood. We are dedicated to our community with ongoing efforts to keep Santa Cruz a safe place to live, work and raise a family.”
